The Brighton sea front

                                                                           Brighton

Brighton is one of England’s most popular seaside resorts. Today Brighton attracts about 8 million visitors each year. Brighton’s most famous building is the Royal Pavilion.  One of the most interesting areas of Brighton is the old Lanes, a maze of narrow streets where they sell jokes, sweets and a lot of jewellery. There is also a chocolate shop called Choccywoccydoodah, which I visited the other day.

THIS IS REAL CHOCOLATE!!!!!!!

The town has almost 100 parks and gardens, and easily over 1000 restaurants! The Sea Life centre in Brighton is one of the oldest aquariums. The Brighton and Hove Chess Club is the oldest in Britain. There are over 400 pubs in Brighton. Brighton has been voted the third  happiest city in the UK.

Brighton has a big seafront going to Kemp Town in the East where there is a Marina and to Hove in the West where they are making the world's largest moving observation tower, called the i360. Here is a photo of some graffiti we saw on the seafront in Brighton.

Brighton was the first place to open a nudist beach in 1979. It has lots of different types of people. Pink Floyd's first live performance of Dark Side of the Moon was in Brighton. The Royal Pavilion (the most famous building in Brighton) was used as a military hospital for Indian soldiers during World War 1.  It was built by Prince Regent.  We stayed in Brunswick Square. The houses are built around the same time as the pavilion and the style is called Regency architecture. They started building it in 1825.
