Information on Bhutan

The Capital city of Bhutan is Thimphu. The official language of Bhutan is Dzongkha. Bhutan has two currencies which are known to be called Bhutanese ngultrum and Indian rupee. The Prime minister of Bhutan is Tshering Tobgay.

The highest mountain in Bhutan is the Gangkhar Puensum Mountain. China, India, Bangladesh and Nepal are the countries that border  Bhutan The United Nations recognized Bhutan as a country in 1974. The Manas River is the longest river in Bhutan.

Buddhism is the official religion with Hinduism the second popular faith. Plactic bags have been banned in Bhutan since 1999. Bhutan is one of the last countries in the world to introduce television to its people.

Information on Cambodia

The countries that border Cambodia are, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand. The currency of Cambodia is Cambodian riel. The population of Cambodia is 15.14 million (2013). The Official language of Cambodia is Khmer. The capital city of Cambodia is Phnom Penh.

The seas that border Cambodia are the Gulf of Thailand and the Southeast sea. The highest mountain in Cambodia is the Phnom Aural mountain. Cambodia is one of the few countries which has never had a McDonalds, along with Ghana Yemen. The Mekong River is the longest rive in Cambodia.

50 % of the Cambodian population is under the age of 15.  Cambodia is the only Asian country to have a king who is partly of French descent. The official religion of Cambodia is Theravada Buddhism which is practiced by around 95% of the Cambodian population. Football is the official sport of Cambodia.

Information on Guyana

The population of Guyana is 799,613 (2013). The Official language is English. The countries that border Guyana are Suriname, Venezuela, Brazil. The sea that borders Guyana is the North Atlantic Ocean. The capital city of Guyana is Georgetown which has a population of 134,497 (2002).

Guyana is considered the only English speaking country in South America. The official currency is the Guyanese dollar. The longest river in Guyana is the Essequibo River. Christianity and Hinduism are the main religions in Guyana. The highest Mountain in Guyana is Mount Roraima at 2,835 m.

In size, Guyana is larger than New York state but smaller than Idaho. The official name of Guyana is the “Co-operative Republic of Guyana.” The national motto of Guyana is “One People, One Nation, One Destiny.”Guyana is the third-smallest country on the mainland of South America.

Diatoms

Hey guys, this week I have been studying organisms. As my homework I need to write about any organism on the tree of life and I chose Diatoms, Diatoms are from the Eukaryotic kingdom and from the branch Heterokonts.

1: Diatoms are a major group of algae.  

2: Diatoms play an important role in the formation of the Earth's structure.

3: They are found on damp surfaces, in the oceans, rivers,  lakes, streams, estuaries, puddles, on wet 
 rocks, and in various soils.

4: Scientific name: Bacillariophyceae.   

5: Diatoms live in glass houses. Their cell walls are made of silica, the same material that's in glass.

6: There are over 100,000 species of diatoms that we know about on earth. Diatoms are single-celled.

Information on Iceland

Hey guys welcome to my information on Iceland blog. Hope you all like it. See you there.




The population of Iceland is only 323,002 (2013). The Capital of Iceland is Reykjavik. Iceland is in the continent Europe. These are the seas that border Iceland, the North Sea, Greenland Sea, North Atlantic Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean. The currency of Iceland is Icelandic króna.


















There is a volcanic eruption every 4 years on average. Around the summer solstice (June 21st), the sun is visible for the full 24 hours in the Westfjords. 60% of the Icelandic population lives in Reykjavík. There aren’t any McDonald’s Restaurants anywhere in Iceland. :(





















The country’s national sport is handball. Iceland does not have an army, navy or air force. Iceland was one of the last places on earth to be settled by humans. Iceland has lots of Geysers because it is a country with volcanic activity. Beer remained illegal in Iceland until 1989.

The countries that border Thailand are Myanmar (Burma), Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia. The capital of Thailand is Bangkok. The curency of Thailand is Thai baht. The official language spoken in Thailand is Thai. Thailand is bordered by the Indian Ocean and the Gulf of Thailand.

The longest river in Thailand is the Mekong river. Thailand’s name in the Thai language is Prathet Thai, which means “Land of the Free.” The world’s smallest mammal, the Craseonycteris thonglongyai (the bumble bat), is found in Thailand. Thailand houses the world’s largest fish.
Seventy five percent of the people in Thailand are Thai, 14% are Chinese, and 11% are other.
Thailand is home to the world’s hairiest child, Supatra.

One-tenth of all animal species on Earth live in Thailand. Thailand is home to the world’s longest poisonous snake, the king cobra. The cobra can reach more than 18 feet long, and one bite from it can kill an elephant. Approximately 10% of the world’s bird species live in Thailand.
