Africa: Botswana

Hey guys. Today I am making a new blog series. Every week I will talk about a country from Africa.
Today I picked a lovely country called "Botswana".

                                                         Botswana

The people of Botswana feel a great pride in their history and government and share a strong sense of national identity. Today, houses are mostly rectangular and made from modern materials like cement and breeze blocks with metal or tile roofs. On the other hand, there are some poor people who don't have enough money to live well in Botswana. Sometimes children are left in the villages to be raised by other family members while parents work in cities. Botswana has lots of diamonds and these bring in money from other countries.

Main languages: English, Setswana

Main religions: Christianity, indigenous beliefs

Here are some pictures of Botswana

Home schooling

Hey guys this time I am going to be talking about what I did on my first few days of  home schooling.

The first day we learnt about political and physical maps. A political map shows the borders of the land.  A physical map show the Earth's features. We also learnt about longitude and latitude.
The most famous latitude line is the equator.
Physical map of  Bulgaria

Political map og Bulgaria

The second day we learnt about Bulgaria and that we live in the centre of it. We also looked at demographics, which can tell you things like how many males/females live in whatever country. It could also give you information, such as the number of people living somewhere.

The third day we learnt about Europe and that it is the second smallest continent in the world ! We also touched on the EU (European Union) and it is like a club some countries in Europe belong to.  They hope it will make them strong.

My new cat Merlin

While I was on holiday in England, unfortunately my cat Maisy in Bulgaria died :(. But
our neighbours let us take their lovely grey cat. Mum preferred  a girl but the cat that the neighbours had offered us was a boy. Then mum said "I'm sorry Archie but I really want a girl", Then I said "please please pleaeeeeese" then mum finally decided that because this cat was so cute she said we will take it :). It's been here for one day and it's missing its old home but it's getting used to it here:). Merlin plays with whatever moves:  example: If you throw a piece of fluff he will run to get it.
Here is a picture of Merlin `

The amazing day!

Hey guys, today I want to tell you about the amazing day I had. Lets get to it.
When I woke up I had to do some work. When I finished I went home and had my breakfast (pancakes). Then I went on my laptop and did my computer work.  Afterwards, dad called "Lets go, we have to get to the lake". I grabbed a chocolate bar and jumped in the car - time to go swimming! It was a 20-30 minute drive but when we got there it was great!
We had a swim and a picnic and had a great time. Then it was time to go home :(
When we got home it was 7:00 pm. But we decided it would be fantastic to go to the mountains and watch the sunset :)
We went to a place called Buzludja. It is an interesting building that looks like a UFO. It is where the Communist party met.  Some of us even went inside this giant building which is falling apart slowly.
